Forever
Released: 2025
Lyrics
There is a time for everything, you’ll see
A flame eternal, take my guarantee
A word, banish those who disagree
A kiss, pluck you like an apple tree
All veins are severed
Your tremors
We’ll say never
We are forever
When we’re together
In the Nether
They see terror
We see pleasure
When you lay down beside me
All I feel is fear
When I close my eyes
And darkness reappear
You touch my chest
And shed a final tear
Hold me close
We’re gonna disappear
There is a time for everything, you’ll see
A flame eternal, take my guarantee
A word, banish those who disagree
A kiss, pluck you like an apple tree
All veins are severed
Your tremors
We’ll say never
We are forever
When we’re together
In the Nether
They see terror
We see pleasure
About
2025 was a hectic year on the personal front for both members of the band. They hadn’t really released anything after “Waterfall”, which technically speaking was released in 2025, though that’s more a result of it being the, at this point traditional, New Year’s Eve release. Almost half a year had passed before they had some semblance of time.
The first proper release of 2025, then, ended up being a more “lighthearted” song inspired by Chikamatsu Monsaemon’s “Sonezaki Shinju” (EN: Love Suicides at Sonezaki). It could feasibly be compared to a story with similar themes to Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”, at it is about a pair whose love is taboo or forbidden, and thus they commit suicide together.
