Divisae Mentis

Lyrics

Blood, surrounding me
Love, you’re a part of me
Lost, in the burning sea
Hate, you’re a part of me

I hear a voice thundering through the Nether
Promising to never let me go
I have no choice but to bear the weather
Losing myself, seeing your glow

My love, I can’t move on
You’re not like anyone
I wish you didn’t run
Away from me

My most beloved one
With it was undone
My hand on a gun
Your blood is free

Blood, surrounding me
Love, you’re a part of me
Lost, in the burning sea
Hate, you’re a part of me

Surrounding me
You’re a part of me
Promising to never let me go
What have I done
We had just begun
You’ve got me stuck

I thought you were the one

My love, I can’t move on
You’re not like anyone
I wish you didn’t run
Away from me

My most beloved one
With it was undone
My hand on a gun
Your blood is free

About

Sometimes, when a person falls in love with another, it might materialise as a more fanatic, toxic kind of love. When that love is one-sided, it turns into stalking. And, if it goes to far, it might even reach murder. At least that’s what happened with Rebecca Schaeffer (1967 - 1989) when she was killed by Robert John Bardo, following the latter having stalked her for three years.

The music video for Divisae Mentis has tons of B-roll footage, and lots of creativity was utilised to make the video. The heart in Halvari’s hands in the opening shot was made by Hanssen, using a mutilated orange, a latex glove, and food colouring.
