Ira Vera

Lyrics

You saw me at the best I’ve been
(It’s never been this good)
You make me whole
(I think I’m going mad)
I felt your lips running down my skin
(Please baby, never stop)
My blood vessels burst
(My heart is damned)

Into the pit below
There’s no tomorrow
No more stereo
None of the angels glow

Oh baby don’t you see
You can’t follow me
I’ll never be free
From this killing spree

They saw me at the worst I’ve been
(It’s never been this bad)
I can’t quench this thirst
(I think I’m going mad)
They saw their blood running down my skin
(Please baby, don’t be sad)
As their blood vessels burst
(My heart is ironclad)

I was blinded by tomorrow
When nothing will be here
I won’t remember the sorrow
It all will be clear

Into the pit below
There’s no tomorrow
No more stereo
None of the angels glow

Oh baby don’t you see
You can’t follow me
I’ll never be free
From this killing spree

“True Hate”

About

Ira Vera was the song on Opus Nihil that took the longest to finish. Compared to songs like “Post Vitam” or “Tenebrae”, which were rather quick endeavors receiving all the lifeblood our creativity could provide, Ira Vera was instead a song which constantly suffered neglect, especially in terms of orchestration when Halvari wrote himself into a corner and couldn’t get out.
